Letter from Jerome Kroll to his brother, William Kroll, dated February 7, 1863. In this letter, he discusses the status of his regiment and moving from the Army of the Potomac to South Carolina. Note: the letter reads 1862, but the 20th Michigan Infantry was stationed near Fredericksburg in February of 1863.

Taken prisoner near Petersburg, Va., July 30, 1864. Paroled Feb. 21, 1865. Returned to company April 13, 1865. Mustered out at DeLaney House, D.C., May 30, 1865.
