Description	Letter from Darwin Babbitt to his parents dated March 9, 1864. In this letter, he discusses the movements of his regiment, burning down a train station, destroying railroad tracks, firing on Richmond, and an African American spy.
Military Service Note	Babbitt, Darwin H. Ypsilanti. Enlisted in company K, Fifth Cavalry, Aug. 21, 1862, at Detroit, for 3 years, age 18. Mustered Sept. 2, 1862. Taken prisoner at Hawes' Shop, Va., May 28, 1864. Released Jan. 27, 1865. Mustered out at Fort Leavenworth, Kan., June 22, 1865.
