Letters from Mack Ewing to Nan Ewing dated May 26, 1864 through May 30, 1864. In his letters, Ewing describes his stay in the hospital for dysentery, family members serving in the Civil War, the impending march to Richmond and camp life.

Ewing, Henry ("Mack"). Enlisted in company D. Second Infantry, March 28, 1864, at Woodbridge for 3 years, age 22. Mustered April 8, 1864. Joined regiment May 23, 1864. Discharged at West Philadelphia, Pa., June 23, 1865, on account of wounds received while in camp near Petersburg, Va. (Loss of right eye.)
