Discharged at Detroit, Mich. July 19, 1865. Brevet Major General, U.S. Volunteers, March 13, 1865, for distinguished and conspicuous gallantry and for good conduct before Petersburg, Va. Lieutenant Colonel, Thirty-sixth U.S. Infantry, July 28, 1866. Transferred to Thirteenth Infantry, March 15, 1869. Colonel, Twenty-first Infantry, April 27, 1879.
