Color postcard showing the road up to the observation towers in Irish Hills, Michigan. The towers were erected in 1924 by two competitors - the Michigan Observation Company ("The Original Irish Hills Tower") and the owner of the other portion of the knoll ("The Gray Tower"). Each added on to his respective tower to compete for the tourism dollars until eventual a compromise was reached and the two towers remained the same height. They were both bought and connected by a gift shop in the 1950s.
